April's book: a long walk to water by Linda Sue Park

This book has been highly recommended with good reviews and I was crious about this fiction upon a true story. I don't know much about southern Sudan in Africa, but had been interested in at least going the continents once in my lifetime since 2009 I spent in Australia and Southeast Asia where I was taught about justice.

Two stories that seem to have nothing to do with each other lead the whole book, and it was not until how the narratives go at the end that I got the way the two flow. It was touching in that not only the little boy, Salva, got through all the hard times all alone, but also it was him who had been doing all his best learning English, going to college, studying business, setting up a project, giving speeches in front a lot of people for fund raising and ending up making his unfeasible ideas come true. He was afraid of all these things that needed to be done to help his people knowing it would be very difficult to receive substantial conributions and support from people who had no idea about what's going on in Sudan, and to speak to them on why financial support needs to be given those there, which must be all challenging.

I can see how much he pushed himself and tried to get up the courage, which had given me fascinating insights. I once dreamed of stuff I wanted in my life, but wasn't brave enough to face all the difficulties coming along. The attitues of him was so motivating, and I reflected deeply on myself, who just avoided, instead.
